After Your Adenoidectomy

1. USUAL POSTOP COURSE: There may or may not be discomfort, nasal congestion or bad breath after surgery. Some patients have very mild or no or symptoms at all.
2. PAIN: Prescription pain medication or Tylenol may be used as needed for discomfort.
3. DIET: Begin with soft foods and progress to a normal diet.
4. PROBLEMS: Fever 101 degrees or above, nausea, vomiting, or bleeding from the nose or mouth. Call the office (day or night). Sometimes bleeding needs to be evaluated in the emergency room. Significant bleeding may need to be treated in the operating room.

You should have a post op appointment for 2 weeks after surgery.
