USUAL COURSE: Most patients heal quickly after undergoing an excision of a mouth/lip lesion. Postoperative pain depends on the size and location of the lesion. Some amount of swelling pain is to be expected.
TEMPERATURE: 99 to 100 degrees for the first few days is normal. Notify us if temperature rises above 101.5 or stays at 101 degrees.
FOOD: Start with soft bland foods, then progress to normal eating. Avoid sharp or spicy foods is generally recommended.
PAIN: A prescription for pain medication will be given. This is usually a narcotic combined with Tylenol. Do not use additional Tylenol.
